1sts vs Old Bolts (A)

The first team travelled to Old Bolts where earlier in the season we were unlucky not to come away with 3 points after chances spurned.

After the last game against Mancs, the worry was the direct ball that undid us, with a focus on the defence being strong.

The first half was balanced, the defence dealt with everything thrown at them and we created a few half chances of our own, the biggest from a corner met by Gunel which the keeper tipped over.

In general a quiet first half, with some strong goalkeeping from Murphy taking the pressure off the defence as we went into the break goalless.

At half time the introduction of Riley and Hampshire helped a lot, as we got a strong foothold in the game. We took control of possession and worked the opposition, limiting them to counter attacks which were dealt with swiftly.

As we knocked on the door, the chance finally came as a defence opening pass by Davies set up Hampshire, who made no mistake.

From then the game was in our control, smart game management mixed with possession of the ball saw the game out for all 3 points.
